Why you should visit Breckenridge

Breckenridge, or “Breck” as the locals call it, isn’t like other high-end ski destinations. Here you won’t feel out of place if you’re looking to swap the fancy après-ski cocktail for a frothy beer. Breckenridge exudes a laid-back, friendly vibe that you feel the moment you set foot in the former mining town. Filled with charming, Victorian-style architecture, the historic district looks like a scene from a western film: the streets are lined with colorful storefronts, with the Rocky Mountains providing a scenic backdrop.

Breck is a legendary ski destination with five distinct peaks, though it’s an outdoor playground no matter the season. Not far from Breckenridge is Lake Dillon, where you can enjoy the mountain views from a boat while exploring the area’s alpine hiking trails. Breckenridge also offers opportunities to mountain bike and, in the winter, sled and snowshoe.
