Diamond Peak

Why You Should Visit Diamond Peak Ski Resort

While the terrain is primarily geared towards beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, the low-key atmosphere and affordable lift tickets are enjoyed by visitors of all skill levels.

There is a rental shop at Diamond Peak – it’s recommended that guests organize a pick-up the previous day after 3 pm, to avoid morning lines as they set out on the mountain. There is no night skiing or tubing at the ski resort, though these can be found at other Lake Tahoe ski areas.

Diamond Peak does have slope-side dining, though there is no ski-in/ski-out lodging. Guests usually drive or take a shuttle from the nearby Incline Village – about five minutes from the resort – or stay in the surrounding Lake Tahoe area.

Best Time to Visit Diamond Peak Ski Resort

The season at Diamond Peak usually runs from mid-December to mid-April. Tahoe is known for its bluebird ski days (when the weather is warm but the snow conditions are still excellent) from mid-March onward, and for some, skiing in a T-shirt is the ultimate mountain experience. Diamond Peak is also known for being less crowded than larger Lake Tahoe resorts like Heavenly Mountain or Squaw Valley , although like everywhere else, the resort sees spikes in visitation during the holiday season and on weekends.
